Monday
Night Fourplay bowling league is hosted by AMF Syosset lanes in Syosset New York. We are the longest running gay league on
Long Island. We are also the largest community league in the tri-state area! The league started quite small in the very early
90's and grew to its peak in the late 90's topping out at 48 teams of 4! Currently the league is made up of over 30
teams of 4 bowlers each! It is a mixed league with any combination of men and women on a team. All skill levels are welcome
as well. In the 2007 - 2008 season we had bowlers ranging in average from 97 up to and including 230! Although it is primarily
a gay and lesbian league, that is not a requirement to bowl on the league. Over the years many friends and family members
of our bowlers have joined the league and had great fun! With that in mind, please understand that just because someone's
name appears on the site or on a standings sheet does not indicate their sexuality! The rules for the league are available
on the website if you would like to read them.
During the course
of the year we have plenty of fun things going on to make the league even more fun. We run several side pots. We have a strike
club. We run a Secret Santa in December and the gifts are traded at the Holiday break party in December. We also have a banquet
at the end of the year to give out awards and trophies. The league officers are always trying to come up with new ideas to
make things fun on the league. We also occasionally have fundraisers to benefit community issues or to fund the Gotham Open
tournament which we host every other year, most recently in April 2008!
The
Summer session of our league is a short 12-13 week session with only 3 on a team and is much more relaxed. It is the perfect
way to get into the league and get to know some of our bowlers. Several of the officers usually bowl in the Summer as well.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to present them to one of the officers or through the webmaster. All contact
info is on the front page of the site. If you contact the webmaster about an issue, your email will be shared with the appropriate
officer who can answer your question or address your concern. Come join us and make some new friends!
